'Patchwork tapestries create a rippling, fleshy screen of skin, blood and veins in ‘Hammer my flesh flat’. Sprosen was inspired by anatomical scanning, cross-sections and the strange ‘flatness’ and transgression of body-imaging. Drawn to the layers and patterns within the body, the artist engages in her continued practice that challenges weaving traditions by rejecting neatness and perfection and instead embracing the raw and sensual aspect of fibre.'
